  1. I got a problem with converting my .avi to .wave.. When i want to save as .wave it says the audio compression is not compatible with the input format..

I have never had problems with virtualdub..

But when i check the file info at 'file compression' it says 'unknown' i guess this is the problem. But want to know how to convert it now? CAN ANYBODY HELP ME....IN ANY WAY?

  2. An AVI file is the video and audio, a wave file is just audio. If you wan't to save a wave file from virtualdub, then open up your avi, file>save wav. This will rip out the audio to a new file. If your doing a divx movie theis "wave file" will actually be an mp3 (probably) and so will need decoding by something like CDex or Lamer to make a true wave file. You can tell what format the audio is by looking at file>properties in vdub.
