Question?!?!?
I'm trying to make a dvd fit on a 4.7 disc with dvd shrink. I used the re-author option and had everything perfect with out losing extras and stuff. And it told me that the menus wouldnt work and that theyd just be a movie instead of an interactive menu....wtf? Is there a way do get rid of stuff in full disc option?

use the replace with still image option
. It's one of the options in the compression part
it will probably be set to Automatic at the minute
you will need a blank picture though to insert and you can get some from somewhere or use your own
this is one place

Is it ok for me to burn?
In dvd shrink it says 4,550 on the green bar on top...
but it says 4,079 where it says compression settings? -
Hmmm, not sure if compression settings take into account the audio?
With audio does it add up to 4550? -
Looks like you are OK to burn then.
Just remember not to be in Re-Author mode or you lose menu functionality.
You should test on a DVD-RW to make sure it turns out the way you want.
Or use use DVDshrink to create an ISO file, and then use a mounting software like Daemon Tools to simulate the disk as DVDrom in your computer. Then test with a software DVD player on your computer. -

due to the lack of response from people when I ask these questions then I have a feeling that compression is still constant along with menu limitation and if that's the case the DVDShrink kicks CloneDVD's ass regarding flexibility in the these 2 areas and I can't understand why you always suggest people use it. Maybe I'm wrong but it would be nice to be corrected -

VLC will play back almost anything (including images [bin, iso]), and it's freeware.

a few myths have died since the latest release such as paying for burning and removal of extras
the rest of the myths aint worth worrying about as they are petty in comparision seeing as you can now 'replace' extras & menu's and also burn with DVDDecrypter so things have changed a little
Myth 1 - DVDShrink now can creates ISO's that you can burn with DVDDecrypter (also free) whereas you would probably need ANYDVD ($40) to rip direct with CloneDVD so time saving is a big factor also so 1 to DVDShrink
Myth 2 - It does allow you to get rid of the ones in the Menu's, CloneDVD doesn't so 1 to DVDShrink
Myth 3 & 4 - DVDShrink does now allow you to 'replace' extras but doesn't change original playback so 1/2 to CloneDVD
Myth 5 - It's not perfect but using the variable compression option, the new engine and extra space saved by menu removal/variable compression then it will give better results on the main movie in most cases so 1 to DVDShrink
Myth 6 - if reduction levels were the same then it's the perception of quality by the user as to which is best but I know which one I think it it judging by the numerous users post
Myth 7 - It does most of what CloneDVD does but can't say likewise
Myth 8 - 6 and 2 3's and half a dozen of the other here as both are relatively easy
Myth 9 - it isn't an all in one but neither is CloneDVD unless you are copying uncopyrighted material
Myth 10 - they ain't that bad but I have seen some extreme cases and I think CloneDVD suffers from this myth also. Fancy doing a list Gurm?
basically comparing the 2, DVDShrink excels in more areas and these are the areas that most users are probably more concerned about
this is my own opinion of course and please feel free to disagree but in a nice way people -
Ok not to start a flame war, this is really an honest question.
I used to use DVD X Copy but I wanted to give everything a fair chance. I have had no problems with DVD X Copy. Now, in DVD X Copy, if certain menus, subtitles are removed, the compression rating will improve which should theoretically improve the picture quality. Now I may have missed it but does this same function/feature automatically get set if you remove certain functions in DVD Shrink? Much of the same question as the previous post.
Thanks in advance -
If you have automatic set in DVDShrink and remove anything at all then the rest of the DVD quality settings are uniformally raised
if you set anything to Ratio then these are not affected when you remove anything afterwards as they are set manually
it's best to remove what you basically know you want rid of first then set the Ratios and leave the rest on automatic to share the rest of the space on the DVD
I hope I understood what what you were asking
and basically that is what really sucks about CloneDVD as you have no control over where you want better quality on the DVD along with the all or nothing menus :P -
