I have several dvd's that are region 2 or 3 and i would like to burn them to make them all region or region 1 at least but i havent figured out how to do it yet with either dvd decrypter or if i use dvd shrink. Any help would be appreciated. I use the iso image if that makes any difference

    Hello,
In either program go to settings and choose region free. Each has a slightly different terminology, I'm at work right now so I can't tell you exactly where to go for both. It doesn't matter how you rip, you can make any disc region free.

Ive tried that on both programs and it doesnt work. Is it maybe because i burn them without changin my drive to the other regions?

DVDDecrypter ( I believe) comes set at Region Free but here is where the settings are just in case.

Use File Mode....select all files...then rip those(the whole DVD) to a folder on your hard drive. Then use DVDShrink to open that folder and away you go.

Are the other region DVD's also in PAL ? You will then need to convert from PAL to NTSC.

    Hello,
Give hech54's picture as a guide. But also, what IS the problem your having? Can you play them on your pc but not your dvd player? IF so than maybe you need change them from pal-ntsc or ntsc-pal (whichever region you need). If its a video format change its MUCH more complicated than just ripping it all region.

Im sorry for not being more clear. Im referring to only region 3 ntsc movies and not pal. I think im starting to understand more about the dvd decrypter. I have to use files instead of iso image? So if its a dvd5 movie i cant just rip it and burn it with decrypter only and make it region free? I have to first send it to Dvd Shrink to transcode it to be region free? My ideal burn i want to make is using decrypter only to rip it region free and then burn it onto disc (assuming its small enough of course) Is this possible and if you are starting with Dvd Shrink is there way to make sure it rips or transcodes all region?

    Hello,
If its dvd5 (ie less than 4.7gb) and its already NTSC just rip it. All you should have to do is use dvd decryptor or dvdshrink and rip all of it (full backup in dvd shrink). Select region free and you should be all set. All you would have to do is then burn the ripped vobs onto a dvd-+r and your there. If its ntsc already no change needed.

P.S. No compression is needed on a dvd5 since its less than 4.7gb

  9. As was said earlier DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink default to Region Free, you can change the setting in DVDShrink when you select "Backup".
If you are going to rip and burn a DVD-5 with DVDDecrypter use ISO mode,if the disc is a DVD-9 or 10 then use File mode.

But if you rip in File Mode then you can't burn with Decrypter- will have to use RecordNow or Nero, etc to burn.
