    what exactly are you trying to do with the file using virtualdub?

    if you're just trying to demux the audio, it should still work regardless of the error.

    I believe even though it has that error you can still go under
    File------->Save As------->Then change the setting at the bottom to Direct Stream Copy and you should be able to save the Xvid portion.

    Skip frames until it can be read. At the first readable frame, set this as the mark in point.

    VDub has a problem reading the first B frame, which is wrong, as no file should start with a B frame, means it was cut incorrectly.
    Linux _is_ user-friendly. It is not ignorant-friendly and idiot-friendly.

  7. For what you are trying to do don't worry about it. Process the film just like you would.
