  1. Hi!
I want to encode to Xvid with VDubMOD using 2 pass encoding.
what if i want to encode the audio too?
when should i be concerned about the audio compression - in the first pass or in the second?

    *Edit*

    i have one more question,
    its about this massage:

i surely dont want to cause an out of sync video so i won't press "Yes",
but why should i save it as wav and then recompress it, if i can recompress the audio directly by choosing "Full processing Mode" in "Streams" section?
can i recompress the video and the audio at once?

    Thanks In Advance!
    any help appreciated!

  2. I usually find you can answer no to the question, then as you surmised, just enable Full Processing mode and recompress. It doesn't always work though.

    why?
    what problems can it cause?

and what about the 2 pass encoding,
when should i define audio compression?
    first pass? second?

thanks again and have a nice day!

  4. When audio full processimg mode doesn't work you'll end up with out of sync audio.

If you're doing 2-pass video encoding you only need to compress the audio on the second pass.

I find the most dependable way to deal with VBR audio is to enable full processing (as PCM audio, the default), then save out the audio as a WAV. If I'm just going to encode for Xvid/Divx, I add it back in and use the Lame MP3 codec to convert to MP3 at the same time the video is encoded. I do the same if I need to edit the video before encoding.

If I am going to convert to DVD format, I convert the WAV to AC3 with ffmpeggui, then add it in with the encoded MPEG-2 video in the authoring program.

is it a way to avoid out of sync audio?
