  1. I have a problem.
A friend of mine has given me a video file which is said to have 2 separate audio tracks (or channels... I dunno how you call them). Is there a program that can let me listen to only one at the time, or if there is a way to exctract the two tracks, so I can remake the file with only the one I want (like with virtualdub)?

tracks and channels are two very different things. tracks are like soundtracks to a movie, like english and french tracks. channels are signals sent to speakers, like a left channel and a right channel. which are you talking about?

  4. dodoss,

I'm almost certain you have a mpg with 2 mono audio channels.
I've seen one on a Japanese anime vcd, one channel is in Japanese
    and the other in English.
If your mpg is indeed on a vcd, just put it into a DVD player and select
the left or right channel to get your desire language. Why go thru all
    the troubles?

If what I assumed is incorrect, state more informations on your next
    post .

The link below was someone had a similar situation. See if it fit your need.

  5. you're right sorry... I'll give you some more information, at least about the file. It's an .avi file encoded in divx and mp3...
some suggestions? should I follow the same procedure showed in your old post?

  6. I haven't played with divx files before, I don't know if Goldwave would recognise the file. But give it a try, it doesn't hurt. Since it's in mp3 format, maybe it will.
