I have Demuxed a couple of DVD's music videos straight from my DVD Rom drive, using DVD Decrypter After the video and the audio have been separated i convert the audio from ac3 to wave to increase the volume via sound forge. Then i load both the video file and the new wave file into TMPG Author but the problem is when i look at the bar down the bottom that says how much space the video has taken up of the 4.7 GB that you have available, it always says about 1.3 or 1.4 Gig have already been used, just for 1 song. But this should only be between 250 to 350 MB. Is it because i'm not reconverting the wave back to AC3 or an Mpeg.
All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Thanks jester1x, but because i am not reconverting the wave file back to AC3 or Mpeg, can this account for the big difference in the size of the video? I mean a wave file is not that much bigger than a compressed file.

  4. Actually, wav files are rather big. For example, an mp3 sound file that is 3 megs may become 40 or more megs when uncompressed to a wav. A 100 or so meg ac3 file can become as much as 1 gig or more when uncompressed. (I'm not trying to insult your intelligence here either.)
