problem splitting .avi to .avi

hello friends,

i am having an EO VIDEO converter. when i tried splitting .avi file.
an active window poped up where video was there but no audio and showing an error
Error! cant read frame. [err=30402 - 0].
but the movie is running good in the media player.
please help

What are the stats of the AVI file ?
Have you checked for bad frames (guides here and here) ?

thanks a lot for the info. i followed the steps n tried to open the video file in VDub-MP3 but says that
couldn't locate decompressor format 'DIVX' (unknown).
by STATS you mean size.
size of the file is 697mb.
please help

By stats I mean codecs used, frame rate, bit rate .... basically everything GSpot tells you when you load a file into it. It helps if you upload a screenshot from GSpot, or manually list the info it provides in your first post, as it cuts down on a lot of questions to try and find out exactly what it is that you have.

That error you got suggests to me that you don't have a DivX codec installed on your computer.

hello jim,
i downloaded K-Lite codec.
now in gsopt
stat is 5 compatible codecs installed
but at
stream type and A/V interleave
type: openDML AVI IMMR:1.00
I/L:1 vid frame (42ms),p=480 split:no


so does this mean i cannot spilt the movie?
is there any other option to spilt the movie.
please help
i dont know how to show the image..

hello jim,

i downloded K-Lite codecs. after downloding the codecs i downloaded a movie. but there is only video no audio. for other friends its working fine.
since it is in .wmv extension G-SPOT is not applicable regarding codecs.
please help me. should i uninstall the K-Lite codecs.
