I'm trying to convert this anime http://home.att.net/~v_spec/lastexile.JPG to DVD so I can watch it on my widescreen TV instead of my 19' computer monitor. But for some reason the converted video is zoomed and didn't retain it's aspect ratio. Here are the steps I used to reproduce the video:

video is 16:9 so I chose DVD 16:9 NTSC under TMPGEnc's project wizard, on the next screen I chose 16:9 525 line (NTSC), next under other settings I chose Full Screen (keep aspect ratio) ---> everything OK so far?

I allow TMPGEnc to decode for approximately 7% - 8%. I now send the video to TMPGEnc DVD author to convert to DVD and the result is what I described above. The picture doesn't retain it's aspect ratio and looks zoomed? Can anyone tell me what I did wrong so I can correct the video to fit perfectly on my TV?

  2. don't use full screen (keep aspect ratio).

    use center, custom size
    set the size to 704 x 396

Thanks! I download this aspect ratio program called Aspect and set the center (custom size) to 640 x 360 (704 x 396 was still too wide). The video fits perfectly now.

What captivated me into watching this series was the Neo-classical 1940's setting and the semi cel-shaded art. Do you have the DVD or the fansub version? Currently I have 2 fansub versions one done by Anime-Kraze ep. 1-26 and the other by KickAssAnime ep. 1-12. So far I think Anime-Kraze's subs are much easier to understand than KAA's and it makes more sense as to carrying the original meaning from japanese to english

  6. I've watched the anikraze release of the series. The subs were well done but the quality is not the same as the KAA release.

The reason for this is because KAA does not sub anime. They just release *cough*dvd-rips*cough*.
