i have conversed over 100gig homemovie dv avi to mpeg2 in
tmpgenc and now i saw that when someone moves quickly or do
sudden moves in the movies it flicker when i looked at it on my dvd on my 32" widescreen tv. but it looks ok in powerdvd on pc. this is what i used:
captured in microsoft dv pal 720x576 25fps lower field first in adobe premiere 6.0
converted in tmpgenc with template dvdpal cq 65 upper field first
bitr:7000
motion search:fast
interlace
4:3 pal
tv philips 32" widescreen
I have read that the upper or bottom field selection can help but is it
too late now when its mpeg2 and if its not are i losing quality to do so
so now my big question is can i fix this when the file is in mpeg2 format or do i have to capture all again "hope not!!!!!" beacuse i have deleted the avis!!!

Yes, you've guessed it right, you mentioned all the right effects,
you should have encoded the Avi's again....Thanks,
Yodel
