  1. Nero 6 Transcoding Problem... AARRRGGGHHH!

    Hi,

when nero starts transcoding files for a VCD or SVCD, it gets to the end of coding the first file and then it just hangs! i thought it might be the avi video files that i was using, so i tried it out with normal Mpeg files and it still hangs! No other programs like virus checkers etc are running at the same time... so it cant be that and i am using the latest nero encoders....?

I am getting frustrated with my PC now and unless anybody has any ideas, i will be forced to take a piss on the keyboard! and kill the cpu with a grinder!

    Any Ideas?

Use a real encoder like TMPGEnc, not Nero.

    Well...where do I start...

If this is your attitude, you are not gonna get any help here. Lose the attitude and acquire some patience and watch your results improve.

Video is not for the impatient.

It is well known the Nero's trnascoding engine is subpar in comparison to a dedicated encode such as CCE or TMPGEnc. All you need to do is encode to the format and specifications you require, then turn off the standard compliance in Nero and it will burn whatever file you throw at it without re-encoding.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I believe it is a term for a teenager/youth who only has to shave once a week.

  7. I second bumfluff's motion (haha).

Nero transcoding engines have been found to be utterly unreliable since day 1. If you d read half the comments made about it on this forum you would know.

TMPGEnc, on the other hand, produces reliable results consistently, is not difficult to use and is an inexpensive solution.

Why you had to blast jimmalenko for his helpful answer, I have no idea.
