I've been burning VHS onto DVD for awhile now, and I'd like to start recording TV programs direct to the computer and burning them, and using my computer as a poor man's TiVo.
Here's my problem -> When I connect the cable to the TV card via coaxial, I get vertical lines of distortion. I can suffer through the lines when I am watching on the computer, but when I burn to DVD and watch on the real televsion, they are really annoying.
The lines go away when I connect the cable coaxial to the cheap VCR I use for playing VHS on my computer, and then use RCA cables to connect the VCR to the TV card. BUT, when I do that, I can no longer use the Real Guide program, which lets me see the TV listings, and set up my TV to record specific programs, and I can only change the channel with the VCR. Oh, and I can only get channels 2-13.
Any ideas on how I can fix this?
