    Hi,

I have a video with a .mpeg extention. However when i check the video using G-spot, it says "video/x-ms-asf".
When i try opening it using Virtuedub, it wouldnt open cause wrong compression pack or something.

How do i convert this to make a vcd?

    thanks

  2. nite,

Have you tried just feeding the file into TMPGEnc? It may well accept it. Here's the guide to converting .AVI to VCD using TMPGEnc (this also covers conversion of .ASF video files):

    https://www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc.htm

Try this method and see if it works.

  3. most likely someone tagged the wrong extention on it. its ASF. V Dub won't open ASF I think because ASF is a microsoft certified format that cannot legally be edited by unlicensed software.

Just to add to that, VirtualDub 1.3C was the last version with ASF support. Anything before this will open ASF. You can still find it on the net ig you look hard enough.
    If in doubt, Google it.
