change the file extension. this works for most applications that won't accept a vob. a vob and a mpeg2 are basically the same except a vob can have extras in it.

Womble Video Wizard will accept VOB's and spit out an mpeg. Not free though there is a 30 day trial.

You don't need to change the file extension. Import your vob(s) and put them onto the timeline, you can do it one at a time or all at once. Just drag and drop to place them. Then select export to save it out as an mpeg.

Womble doesn't encode it unless you make changes to the file, like adding titles, transitions or other affects. If you put it on the timeline then save (export) it just extracts the mpeg2 video from the vob. It will convert the audio to mpeg1 layer-2 (MP2) if necessary and then multiplex the A-V streams into an mpeg file.

BTW, you can edit out portions of the video before exporting and it doesn't need to re-encode.

    Hope that helps.

  7. It turns it into an Mpg file, but that file is not compatable with TMPEG or EO video. So how do I change the file extension - I will try that.
