  1. I was an idiot. I formatted my harddrive, and obviously lost all my settings. I don't remember how I got my 5.1 speakers to work before...heres the problem...

I have a EP-8rda+ motherboard, with onboard audio. I have creative Inspire 5.1 speakers. There are 3 "holes" at the back, in, out and mic. Now, I know I have them set in the right place at the back, its just the settings in my sound panel that I can't figure out now. Does anyone else out there have 5.1 speakers and the same or similar motherboard?? Can anyone shed some light on how to get this working...?? The Beave would be very happy...

  2. start/settings/control panel/sounds and audio devices/

click 'advanced' in the 'speaker settings' area

at the bottom of the screen you should see a 'speaker settings' dropdown window, set it to 5.1..

    that might do the trick.

  3. yeah...I did that, but it still won't give it to me. The thing is, when I play with the settings, I can either get the center speaker to work along with the right and left BUT no back speakers...or I can get back speakers working but no center speaker. Somewhere I KNOW I am making a stupid mistake, I just don't know where...

  4. Is it integrated 6-channel audio? I have Realtek one and for mine you have to use all 3 ports for left/right, center, and surround left/right.

  6. It should be in your motherboard manual; you can probably DL it from the mobo mfr's site.
