A newbie using TMP to convert an avi file to play on my stand alone dvd. seems to do everything according to hoyle but when I try to play it in my dvd I get an error message that is a grey screen that says mp3/ control. My dvd plys other svcd. what step am I using i have xp on my computer.
One other thought I also used curosoft(?) and got the same message.

Sounds like you burned the svcd file directly to the cd, and your dvd player recognize it as a data/mp3 cd. SVCD must be burned in mode2, not as data (mode 1), use for example VCDEasy or something to create SVCD, even Nero can do it if you choose svcd as project type, just dont let Nero **** it up by reencoding it, its not a program that like you to make your own choices.
