DVD MAESTRO subtitles problem

OK, let's see if i can explain myself properly.
I convert my .SSA subtitle with MAESTROSBT to the .SON format, i get the subtitle in .SON format and loads of bitmaps, then i import these .SON subtitle to DVDMAESTRO (to my project). Then in the menu i give the instructions i need like for the OFF button i check SET SUBTITLE TO 1 (my subtitle is on the first stream on the project) but i not check ON, and for examle for the portuguese subtitle i check SET SUBTITLE TO 1 (portuguese subtitle is on the first stream in the project) and i also check ON but i cant turn the subtitle OFF neither i can change to another subtitle language, it doesn't work. What am i doing wrong??? Some help please

i just finished a disc and had the exact same problem, default was english, or no subtitle since the audio was in english, and i had 6 total tracks.
what i did was.. i made a dummy subtitle track, so there were 7 TOTAL(the english as 1). then when i wanted the subtitles off, i just choose the first subtitle track. of course i created a small subtitle in the editor, and all it said was "hi" in black, and made the subtitle appear in black, and voila, it worked... hope that was clear!
