Playing avi. on a DVD

Is there a way to burn avi. on a dvd to play on a Lite-on 2002. Here is what I tried. Burned Xvid and Divx 4 or better files on a dvd +r (Memorex) disc. I use nero 6.0 and burned them as iso. files using a lite-on 811. A few played but froze part-way into the movie. The rest didn't load. I then tried burning them as a DVD-video file. When I tested it using a Imation DVD +RW all movie played without problem. Not so when burned with a DVD+r (Memorex). No movies played and none loaded. All firm ware has been upgraded. Thanks for any help.

did you try a dvd-r disc.
it seems the only media so far you have tried is +,except the dvd-rw,and that worked,more than likely as your player will accept - media.

I am not surprised, Liteon has a lot of glitches, specifically if you want to burn a bunch of avi movies on one DVD+, it freezes quite often. It is the player not the disk
