I just got an antec case but the i/O panel does not match my motherboard. How do you remove the i/o panel already installed in the antec case? Also what are the rails at the bottom of the case for? there are six of them at the bottom of the case?
Thanks

Most of them just pop out Check the other io-plates and find the one that matches your Mobo. I think mine came with 3 or 4 total.
The rails taped to the bottom screw onto the Drives to slide them in and out. 3 1/2 drives need the metal spacers on them to make them wide enough to fit the full opening spaces. Your CD or DVD should just add the rails and then slide them in place.
Watch out on the IO-Panels the edges will slice yoou up something awful. SHARP SHARP SHARP!!!!!! -
I had the same problem. I pushed the I/O shield from outside of the case to the inside, so it popped out inside of the case. I then installed the new shield by pushing it from inside the case.

I may have misread your original email. Are you talking about the I/O (silver) RF shield on the back of your case through which your keyboard, mouse, USB, etc. connects? If so, then it just pops out. However, now that I look at my case it may pop out from inside to out. It should be obvious looking at an open and empty case.
Concerning the rails at the bottom of your case ... I'm not sure what you're referring to ... can you describe them more in detail? -
Look on the sides of the Big drive openings and you see where the rails slide in. They don't screw in. The 3 1/2 inch where the floppy is, screw in.
Here is ther web site where you can get the manual for the case.

From my manual
""
3.5" Device Installation
With the front bezel facing you, swing the plastic bezel cover out. You can see
there are four 5.25" and two 3.5" external drive bays.
Inside the case there are two 3.5" drive cages.
1. Pull the quick release lever towards the rear of the case and release
the top cage first.
Looking from the rear of the case you can see some metal grills over the
exposed (external) drive bays. Carefully put a screw driver through the metal
grill and gently push the plastic drive bay cover until it comes off. Use your
hands to twist the metal plate back and forth until it breaks off.
Note: Don't take off the covers and plates for the drive bays that you
are not using now.
2. Install your floppy drive into the top drive bay.
3. Mount your other 3.5" device into the drive cage.
4. Slide and lock the drive cage back into the case.
5. Release the second cage.
Note: Inside the cage you will find a fan bracket. This is for one of the
optional 80mm cooling fans. If you want to install the optional fan you
should do it now. For fan installation please see the Fan Installation
section of this manual.
6. Mount your other 3.5" devices into the drive cage.
7. Slide and lock the drive cage back into the case.
8. Find a small 4-pin white connector on the power supply and connect it
into the male 4-pin connector on the floppy drive.
9. Connect a large 4-pin white connector from the power supply to the
male 4-pin connector on each of the other devices.
5.25" Device Installation
1. Take off the plastic drive bay covers and metal plates as described above.
2. Take two pieces of the Tension Clips and mount them onto the sides
of the 5.25" device. Make sure the metal portion is angled on the
outside and facing forward.
3. Slide the device into the drive bay until you hear a click.
4. Mount the other devices accordingly. Connect a large 4-pin white
connector from the power supply to the male 4-pin connector on each
of the devices.

In the bottom of the case there are mounts that dont remove easily. Slid into those mounts are drive rails. Take two of these drive rails and screw one on each side of your CDROM drive. Pop out one of the front pop out covers and twist off the metal blank (if it's still there) and slide in your CDROM drive from the front of the case. If you used the proper screw holes the drive will line up with the case front when it latches in place. There should be enough drive rails to do all your removable drives.
To remove the drive just press in the latch on each side of the drive.
The rear i/o panel is a pop in metal plate with holes in it that are supposed to match up with the ports on your motherboard. If you need to change this plate just pop it out.
You should of had a book with that case.
