Just thought I would share this bit of info. I was having difficulty backing up my Atlantis II Milos Return with Audio and DVDShrink. The original DVD played fine on Power DVD and my Sanyo Standalone. I could use DVDdecryptor and rip the whole movie and it played fine from power DVD.
But when I used Shrink, and used Re-Author and still kept the whole movie (including all Audio options), I got No sound. Then I tried Shrink and did not hit Re-Author and just compressed at level 9 backing up whole dvd, I had sound. After comparing what audio options were available without hitting Re-Author and the options avail under Re-Author, I noticed that one AC3 2-ch Unspecified was missing when I hit Re-Author that caused No Sound after backup. This may be something most already know, but I was not aware that by using Re-Author that it might leave something out that was needed. By default I always hit Re-Author since I generaly only pull out the Main Movie with all the audio options.

If you delete the #1 audio track, then by default you will get no sound. IFOEdit can fix this. Hit the Audio button on your remote and select some other track and it will work fine. This is very common if the first tract is DTS.
Are you 100% sure you didn't uncheck an Audio track in Re-Author mode? Generally I delete all but the 6CH AC5.1 track (if it's there, otherwise the 2ch), and only have an issue if it's not the #1 track (use IFOEdit before burning). To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -

I have backed up a number of DVDs and used Re-Author (shrink ver2.3) and have not had a bit of trouble with sound. I always check all the english audio so as not to worry about sound, but this was an unusual situation. It took me a week before I noticed that without Re-Author there was an extra Audio Track called AC3 2-ch Unspecified. When I hit Re-Author, it dissapears. And that is With DVD highlited on the left since I selected everything to by copied. I know how some might accidently click on something on the left like extras or menus and get confused as to what they are looking at from the left and then the right with options on the audio. Only thing I know is that is was a great lesson for myself. I appreciate you telling me about the First Audio, making sure it is not unchecked since it may be the default, that will help me in the future if I have any other different audio probs.
Do you know what this is anyways? AC3 2-ch Unspecified ?
Always see English, etc......Never saw an Unspecified audio......just curious.
Being that it was the first on the list of audio options, before hiting re-author and then gone (I Mean GONE) after clicking Re-author then what you said would become true since it could have or most likely was the default that caused me no audio since it was removed after re-author was hit, and I didn't notice it being gone from the list.
Thanks,
Kip
