  1. Im running XP (P4, 3.07GHz, 256ram), and as i get this white box capturing with my card, i wanted to install this version of the driver, but after uninstalling the driver and setup the .exe file, i have to reboot, and after that it still come back to 1.17 version?
    What do I have to do?
    I posted on another topic about my white box problem. I find the right version for the driver (1.08)
    But I still want to know if it is possible to remove this white evil thing on an already captured video?

    Clean up the uninstall before reinstalling the drivers. Several utilities at the site listed.

    Detonator Destroyer v1.02.1 By Fatman (fatman@guru3d.com)
    http://www.guru3d.com/detonator-destroyer/

    Right here is the procedure and usage of this (wonderful) tool.

    * Uninstall the drivers from the Add/Remove Section of Control Panel
    * Run this program
    * Click on Uninstall
    * Click on either Restart to restart windows or close to shut the program. You will need to restart shortly
    * When the machine has restarted, Install the display adapter as "Standard VGA"
    * Restart whern prompted
    * Install the new display drivers
    * Restart again

    IF that fails, try this Registry Cleaner (Shareware)

    Does Detonator destroyer support XP and 2000? Last time I looked the 3D guru page showed last revision Nov 2002 and said Support for XP coming soon so have been wary about using it.

    This may not be really helpful, since I'm using Win98SE, but you never know. So here it comes...

    As I promised in another post I started fiddling with compatibility issues among several version of nVidia's Detonators and WDM drivers. What I've found so far is that Detonators 45.32 for Win98SE are not compatible with WDM 1.08... the latter don't seem to get installed properly (the Audio and Video crossbars, the TVtuner and the Capture device are simply NOT displayed AT ALL in the Device Manager list).

    To make a long story short, I uninstalled everything (both Detonators and WDM drivers) with the help of the recomended DetonatorsDestroyer utility)... that was not enough though!

    I also had to make a re-boot in SAFE MODE and MANUALLY remove the crossbars, the tvtuner and the capture device from the Device Manager list (Control Panel->System->Device Manager->Sound, video and game controllers). NOTE: they were not shown inside normal Windows, but the were present inside Safe Mode.

    Then I installed Detonators ver 30.82, I didn't reboot, installed WDM 1.08 and the made a re-boot.

    Vou a la... they are now displayed properly inside the Device Manager list and they seem to work just fine (I tested them with AMCap , iuVCR and Virtualdub).

    What's left now is to verify that WDM 1.08 indeed remove the Macrovision noise during capture... I'll do that as soon as I get back my Q40 from Philips, where I sent it for fixing some problems with SVCD playback. I'll get back to you then.

    PS. I don't know if the above procedure works on XP.

    Regards...

    Okok, I read your answers and I'd like to thank you for your attention.
    The last solution did frighten me, so tried the easiest one... and im pretty happy since it is working :P
    So if anyone running XP has problems, just do that
    Run this program (WDM_1.08.exe)
    Click on Uninstall
    Click on either Restart to restart windows or close to shut the program. You will need to restart shortly. Your drivers should be reinstalled automatically like before.
    Then:
    Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Sound Video and Games, then find your nVidia WDM and click right for Update driver, but then "Update from a list or specific place", then "Don't search, let me choose the codec to install", then choose 1.08
