    G'day
I have installed Solid Converter PDF (After reformat of HDD and clean SP pro install) but it won't generate a PDF file because "Solid Converter PDF (S/C) printer driver" is not installed. I tried Reinstall SC PDF V4 printer from services and support but I get "installation of S/C PDF V4 printer driver failed".
This has nothing to do with the HP printer Which is working OK. Before reformatting the HDD I had no problems.

Can someone help with some ideas? Do I have any needed service disabled?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Several things to try, uninstall, reboot, re-install, finally a system restore and one more installation attempt. You should also manually remove all related files, directories, DLL's, and registry entries. May take a little searching.

By "no problems before" you mean using this particular PDF printer prog or just no problems otherwise?

No real reason it should fail, corrupted file or registry maybe. Which brings me to asking why the HD was just re-formatted?

Maybe the program needs a particular Service Pack? Done the same Windows updates as original?

I've used a free prog called primo pdf many times and never had a prolem with it. There are many such progs, I wouldn't waste much time on this one, just be thorough on removal and try something else.

Solid Converter® PDF is handy for converting pdf to usable documents such as excel, word, ect.

    Thanks Bjs
I installed Cute PDF. It gave me the same error @ installation but FAQ had the answer how to install the driver manually.
I do not need S/C now.

Mate, I tried all of that many times over.
The HDD was reformatted bcoz I had Internet connection problems.
The same version of Solid converter was installed before and same OS.

I must have messed up something trying , unsuccessfully to install SATA drivers to install Windows XPPro SP2 Or SP3on a sata HDD.

    Thanks for your help.
    Problem solved
