  1. hello and a happy new year to all

    1. I start making Mpg files using Tmpgenc-plus
    2. then i author the files using Tmpgenc DVD author

Burn the files on my Nec 1300a writer ( 1.9 firmware )
    using

now when i wana play the DVDdisc on my DVD player ( akai DV-P4410 )
it starts to stutter from time to time

i have look tru the forums to find out what the problem could be
but didnt find anything that could help me.

i have tryed 3 different typs of DVDdisc

    1. Princo Blanco ( burning at 2x speed )
    2. Phillips ( 2x speeds )
    3. fuiji ( 2x speeds )

they all give me the same problems so it aint the DVDdisc

if i copy a original DVD to my HD and then burn it, it play whitout that stuttering ( lag ) so i geus it aint my Burner..

maybe its the way i Author my DVD ??

but i dont do anything special with it :S just add files to tmpgenc dvd and use standard setting for it.

  2. one thing to look at -

when you start to make your mpg file using tmpgenc and it's project wizard, make sure you have selected a "VBR" setting in the first wizard window (toward the bottom).
then, process a portion of your source file, choosing a scene or two that has been stuttering on your player.
Use RW disks to cut down on coasters and see if that setting helps any.

  3. I also have this drive and software and from time to time get the same problem, mainly near the end of a full disc. i found if i made a iso file first and then burnt to disc it seemed to play ok on my dvd players.
    hope this helps
    dave.
