  1. I have an AVI file I want to convert to CVD using AVI2SVCD and CCE. When I play the file using media player, bs player, or Power DVD, it plays great picture is just right and the sound is perfect. But, whe I load the file into Virtualdub, I get "Cannot Determine File Type" error. SO I can't even tell what type of file it is. If I load it into TMPGEnc, I get an error, and CCE just hangs. Now what can I do? As I said the file plays perfectly on playback, both audio and video, so I don't think it is a codec problem, although I am not too sure, which is why I am asking here.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

  3. training42,

You can try VirtualDub Mpeg2/AC3 version. Not sure where you can download it but do a search. It's around.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the fast reply's. Right after I posted this, I had a hunch, which GSpot confirmed...It was an OGG media stream with DIVX 4CC with ogg audio. I have messed with ogg files before, but this was the first time I have ran into one with an .avi extension, I have only seen the .ogm extension. Anyway, I decompressed it with the decompressor from avi2vcd, and virtualdub picked it right up. Now I can convert to CVD.

Thanks for the help, and if anybody else has run into problems with ogg files, go here for help http://sigmus.cjb.net/
