  1. C'mon guys, I know someone out there knows more about this than I do.

I've got some SVCD .mpg files that play a full 45 minutes with Media Player, but MP only reports 10 minutes of video. If I try to encode them with TMPGenc, it only encodes 10 minutes. If I burn them with VCDEasy, I only get 10 minutes.

I know it's all in there, because it plays in MP. I just can't seem to get it out.

Is there a way to capture the Media Player output? I keep on seeing "frameserving" in other posts, but I haven't found an explanation yet of what this is. Any chance frameserving is my solution?

If I should be asking this in a different forum, please point me to it. Thanks for any answers, even conjecture and wild guesses.

    Perhaps this helps

Try to use VideoLAN for playing the file. VideoLAN plays almost everything and you can save the displayed stream to a file. If you have bad data in your source video, you can try to skip with the slider over this point and save the rest of the stream.

Then, you have not looked very hard. :c*

Try searches in TOOLS & GUIDES

Just about anything you need to know is right there for you. :c)

One thing that'll help. Don't use WMP to play these types of files. Get PowerDVD or WinDVD so you can see a more "true" view of what you've got.
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1

  4. Yes! Frameserving from DVD2AVI to TMPGenc worked. Not just worked, but worked really well.

    Thanks for the help.
