  1. Hello I finally got everything to work.

Now i'm trying to capture the dv video from my JVC DV Cam with premiere. It captures fine with 0 dropped frames but i think the video is interlaced because i see those faint lines when somebody moves. I've checked in premiere but i don't Premiere has a capture setting to deinterlace or do something like that.

What i want to do with the movies is edit them and put them on DVD Video so i can watch them on a stand alone dvd player, but i'd also like to watch them on the computer someday.

    The question is:.

Is the lines in the captured movie normal ? Do i have to deinterlace it later ?

I'm very new in this interlacing things although i have read how it works.
Could somebody please give me an advice ?

  2. DV is interlaced. Remember that you don't really 'capture' DV, more do a direct digital copy of the data from the tape to the HD. It is normally stored in an avi wrapper to allow the PC to use it. If your target playback device is a TV, keep the material interlaced (unless you are going to VCD which is mpeg-1 and does not support interlacing). As for PC playback, PowerDVD has a built-in on-the-fly de-interlacer, so try that.

That's a good explanation. Really helped me a lot.
