Hi, i have created a dvd using Virtualdub, TMPGEnc, IfoEdit, ImgTool and DVDDecrypter
The resulting DVD worked in my PC and on my bro's standalone dvd player. However when i put the dvd in my standalone it began to load and then stopped after one second and locked up the player.
I know that my drive can play converted divx and svcd files cos i got one from a family friend and it played. I would ask this person questions but he got it from a trader
anyways this is the process i went thru. Please feel free to criticise and offer constructive comments, its the only way i'll learn
first of all i got my avi file and saved the audio to a wav file in virtualdub at 48000 khz. no change was required. This resulted in a file about 900 megs in size.
Then i loaded up tmpgenc and set the avi as the video source and the audio source as the wav file. this gave me my dvd compliant mpeg2 file.
I then multiplexed or demultiplexed (not sure which 1 i am work at the mo and its coming from memory) into the m2v and mpa file.
I renamed the mpa file to mp2, and loaded up ifoedit. I then placed the 2 files into the author project and set the target diredcory to a VIDEO_TS folder.
After this was complete I then made the ifo's region free, removed p-ups and got vts sectors.
Then in imgtool I created the DVD Image of the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders.
I burnt this back with dvd decryptor. What is it that i have done wrong. my standalone is a matsui 110 and the player list shows that it accepts dvd-r and dvd+r. I am using a pioneer 105 with bulkpaq orange dvd-r 4x.
I have got a copy of DVD Maestro 2.9 and was going to use this but the dvd m2v was too large to use with my wav file from dvd decryptor. So if anyone has any pointers or pages that shows how to rip the audio and video that will be able to fit on one dvdr i would be really grateful. I dont know much about this but i assume it has something to with bitrates.
thanks for your time and any help offered.
