    Hello, I had 6 .avi files I am trying to convert into ffmpeg dvd files. Three of them worked, creating the mpeg file and the dvd file, but the other 3 are just creating an mpeg file that is very little. when it works it takes a good amount of time to create and the files that dont work take less than 30 seconds. here is the progress info for the files that dont work:

    FFmpeg version CVS, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard
    Wed Jun 6 08:21:03 EDT 2007
    Mac OSX universal build for ffmpegX
    libavutil version: 49.0.0
    libavcodec version: 51.9.0
    libavformat version: 50.4.0
    Seems that stream 0 comes from film source: 30000.00 (30000/1) -> 29.97 (30000/1001)
    Input #0, avi, from '/Users/bryanhamill/Desktop/The Wonder Years Season 1/Wonder Years.s1e003 - My Father's Office.avi':
    Duration: 00:20:24.5, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 935 kb/s
    Stream #0.0, 29.97 fps(r): Video: mpeg4, yuv420p, 640x478
    Stream #0.1: Audio: mp3, 44100 Hz, mono, 80 kb/s
    Output #0, dvd, to '/Users/bryanhamill/Desktop/The Wonder Years Season 1/Wonder Years.s1e003 - My Father's Office.avi.ff.mpg':
    Stream #0.0, 29.97 fps(c): Video: mpeg2video, yuv420p, 720x480, q=2-20, 4000 kb/s
    Stream #0.1: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, 5:1, 448 kb/s
    Stream mapping:
    Stream #0.0 -> #0.0
    Stream #0.1 -> #0.1

    any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Does the resulting mpeg file play in VLC or mplayer? you can even drag it into ffmpegx and hit play in the upper right hand area.

    the initial file does play in VLC and ffmpegx preview perfectly. the exported file is only 4 or 5 megs and does not play. This is very strange, escpecially since all 6 files i have are from the same place but only 3 are working.
    thanks!
