I am trying to create a 400Mb SVCD of slideshows using Ulead DVD-MF 2. After churning away for about 2-3 minutes I get an error saying that encoding failed. I can successfully burn very small SVCDs.
Ulead support gave a patch, claiming that DVD-MF was incorrectly estimating the disk space required. This did not change the estimated space, so DVD-MF allows me to start burning.
Has anyone come across this problem?

Maybe you received the wrong patch.
There is a zip file available for download from the Ulead Web site.
It seems to help those who encounter a file size estimate issue.
The ZIP file is mentioned in this tech support FAQ:
