  1. Hi,

    Something which has baffled me for a little while now. Can anyone explain to me how DVDShrink(and others) does what it does in terms of transcoding/recoding/etc? How does it recompress files so quickly whereas encoding takes yonks. My initial thought was that it would cut out frames - a missing frame here and there would be not noticed. Is this correct?

    Nah, DVDShrink is going to keep all your frames, its just the quality of the frames that is reduced - which is still a mystery to me.
