I borrowed a DVD from my friend and backed it up with DVDShrink. I normally burn these VIDEO_TS files before, with NERO Burning ROM (using my old laptop running WinXP). But now since I am running Windows Vista, the programs installed in my new system do not give me the option to select the VIDEO_TS files for burning. I have already gotten rid of my old laptop. I have HP Quickplay as well as Windows DVD Maker that came with the new laptop. Please help. I need to make sure I had the burned VIDEO_TS files to DVD (playable on stand-alone) so I can return the disc I borrowed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks!

No, you didn't. You borrowed a copy from a friend to so you could take a copy for yourself. This is not a backup, and therefore breaches the forum rules. You can only backup a disc that you own. Copying a disc from a friend, or a rental, or borrowed from the local library, falls under piracy.

Wow, please get your facts straight first. Do not accuse me of piracy. It is so upsetting that you have already cast stones upon me without getting your facts straight.

The DVD I borrowed contains a compilation of our school's Graduation rites last year. There were five of us friends who chipped in that one person only takes the videos then make it into playable DVD. I still haven't gotten my copy so I borrowed the original one. You got that?

Please don't be too judgemental. I've been a long-time poster here on the board and have become familiarized to you and greatful for all your help, but this time you were really out of line!

Try using ImgBurn to burn the VIDEO_TS folder to a DVD disc.

Nothing stated by the OP says he was using a copywrited disc.

Thank you, redwudz. I am totally upset. The response I got from guns1singer was misleading. And he didn't even apologize Really appreciate your response, redwudz.

I am at work and have only just seen your response.

I do apologise, although I might suggest in future you add (non-commercial) to your description of the disc to remove any doubt. The number of posts regarding blatant copying of commercial discs over the past few weeks has been so high it has become habit to assume the worst.

Apology accepted. I do understand with the recent rise of copyright infringement. So I'll take you up on your suggestion, but please next time, verify FIRST before you make that accusational post. Thank you!
