  1. When I play back the video clip with ATI player or window's media player the sound is fine but if I try to edit it with MPEG2VCD or TMPG the sound is way off sync. The only way I found to fix this problem is to encode the hole file with TMPG. I never had this problem with MMC 7.6 only with MMC 8.1 and MMC 8.5

  2. I don't know if it is MPEG2 or AVI your are capturing using MMC 8.1, but I have no problems with out of sync MPEG2's, but I was curious today as to whether or not 8.1 supported AVI Codecs (because 7.6 didn't for some reason) and to my surprise it did, so I could configure them the way I wanted.

Well, I made a few test captures using it and the AVI's played fine, but when it came to re-encoding they were way out of sync.

I think it may be a problem with the way ATI joins the audio to the file to keep it in sync, but when the streams are demultiplexed in TMPGEnc or other programs the audio jumps out of sync.

I don't bother with AVI much but I think maybe frameserving from VD might solve the problem. (Just a hunch)

  3. Look at this post:https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=171420

F00 says that when you use codecs other than ATI supplied ones, the audio is always 650ms off. Hope this helps.
