Hi all,
I am converting my mom's old work out videos from VHS to DVD. My process gives good results on everything except one stupid video, it produces a big white/grey band through the image from beginning to end. I would assume this is some kind of copy protection, but since I'm backing up an original can someone please tell me the cheapest fastest way to remove this. Thanks a lot!

Do you use Virtual Dub to capture? If so, in the preview mode, does the band show, and can tracking adjust the position of the band, and where does the band appear on the screen?
Hello. -
I use Virtual VCR for capturing and MSI Gf4 Ti4400 card (Can't get good results capturing with Virtualdub on WinXP with the WDM wrapper). Anyways on previewing the capture with Virtaul VCR the band does NOT appear. Thanks for your help so far Tommyknocker, I appreciate it....

By the way for anyone else that may have this problem or run across this thread in a future search, the way to get rid of it is to re-install WMD drivers version 1.08. I had the latest 1.16, once I removed them and tracked down the old version the lines went away. That was the only thing I changed so I am positive about this solution (no guessing here). If you want the old drivers PM me and I'll email them to you.
