Hi
After encoding (With TMPEGnc) a full legnth Avi movie to MPEG 1 (VCD)
I get a very low volume sound ( in my standalone Dvd player).
I have changed the audio setting in TMPEGnc for 400% but I get the same.
Opinions please.
Does it make any difference to use Virtualdub to extract the audio files
in terms of the sound volume ?
( I am not using Virtualdub ) ; Should I use?
or
Is there any problem with Nero burning software and low volume output?
Please I need your help.
thanks
Edgler

Does the source have low audio? Sometimes there's nothing you can do. Yoy can stript it out with BeSweet and 'Normalize' it, a virtual requirement for DVD sources (makes the lows higher and the highs lower in relation to volume).

I just went through all this and for low volume, normalizing is the way to go, short of re-encoding it at a higher volume. you can do this in virtualdub but i think you have to convert the mpeg audio back to wav--doesn't take long. I think dvd2avi will also do it without the conversion but you'll have to check sefy's guide to be sure.

If you are low volume, you can use TMPGEnc before you start the encoding to increase the volume level, just go to the Settings / Audio => Select Audio Edit and click on the "Settings" button. Use the "Change Volume" to increase by percentage, and you can use the "Play" button to test if it's high enough.
