  1. I am kinda new to the whole ripping business, but I have gotten regular VCDs to play on my DVD-ROM + Hardware Cinemaster 3 which is going out to my TV. I recently discovered SVCD and I can't seem to get it to work.

Here's the deal, I have burned a SVCD 3 times in NERO (even updated to the latest version), and I can play the SVCD with a software player (PowerDVD 3) if I open the mpeg file directly. When I try to play the SVCD with my ravisent cinemaster player nothing happens?? The weird part about the whole thing is that if I take the raw mpeg file (before I burn it) and open it up in windows media player, it goes through the hardware cinemaster, and outputs to my TV fine.

So my question is: can I somehow play my SVCD through my TV without having to open it in media player?

(btw: i am using a Samsung SD-608 DVD-ROM if that makes a difference)

    thanks
    chris

  2. many hardware dvd players for pc have no/bad svcd support due to bad drivers.
