I have several XVID/DIVX movies that I have tried to convert to SVCD and they play absolutely perfect on my computer. However, when I burn them with VCDEasy, they wind up slightly out of sync from the very beginning and remain out of sync through the entire movie.
Here are the video stats:
Framerate: 23.976
Audio: AC3, 448 kb/s, 48000 Hz (not VBR)
No bad frames
I've tried:
TMPGEnc --> SVCD
VirtualDub (extract WAV file, extract video file) --> TMPGEnc --> SVCD
VD (extract video) / Goldwave (extract and convert audio to 44100 Hz) --> TMPGEnc --> SVCD
I've even tried BeSweet in one of my attempts.
Nothing seems to work to get the audio and video in sync when the SVCD is burned with VCDEasy. Nero causes system crashes on my computer, so I been using VCDEasy for (S)VCD burning with great success until these particular files.
Any suggestions?????![]()

Try....
Extracting audio in virtual dub
Frameserving to tmpgenc using the above audio
Burning with Nero.

My suggestion is that it's not VCDEasys fault, but somewhere in the way the AVI was made.
Audio stream may not start at the same time as the video stream.
If the sync problem is constant thru the whole movie, it's pretty sipmple to fix. Just load the wav into Goldwave (or other audio editor). If audio is ahead of video, add corresponding amount of silence in wav.
If audio comes after video, cut corresponding amount from the start of the wav.
My latest XviD -> (S)VCD projects have been slightly (about 0.2 s) off (audio ahead of video), but as both were cartoons, I didn't bother. (It's not as irritating with off sync cartoons as off sync "real" movies, I think.)
