  1. Hi guys, total noob here would appreciate any help!

My computer: 17" PB w. SuperDrive
    My DVD player: Pioneer DV-333

I took a movie from Divx to SVCD format using ffmpgx by using their handy dandy SVCD preset. I took the parts of the (mightily undocumented) output that looked like they matched what nearly incomprehensible tutorial on SVCD buring that came with vcdtoolsX described (a bunch of ordered .img files) droped it into Toast and burned me a nice disc.

Well the video quality came out much nicer than with VCD, but for some reason the aspect ratio is squashed flatter than it should be!

Any body seen this before or have some clue as to what might be causing it? Thanks for any help!

  3. Square,

My source file is 512x384, the letterbox mark *is* checked but the source is not letterboxed. Also the output rez defaults to 480x480 for SVCD NTSC (which strikes me as strange but I have no idea what it should be so...)

Do I just need to uncheck the letterbox mark?!
