i have my tv, Samsung LE32S86BDX, connected to my pc through vga's, nvidia 7600gs, dvi output (dvi(pc) to vga(tv) through a vga-vga cable and nvidia's convertor dvi-vga

when i play a movie, any movie or dvd, at 1024x768 i can see it the same as i can see it on my pc's monitor, i mean with black borders in both up and down sides and correct aspect ratio

when i change tv's resolution at 1360x768, tv can support this resolution, movie takes up all tv screen without black borders and with wrong aspect ratio

if anyone knows something about this pls help
i have some hd movies i wanted to see

    thanks in advance

If you use it as a monitor then it will look like a monitor. If you use a DVI-HDMI connector instead, and use it as a TV, it will behave as a TV.

You should also be using it at the TV's native resolution, which should not distort the video if set up correctly.

I'm using it as TV and I'm sure that I have my nvidia settings correct
I also tried with an ATI vga card but I had the same aspect ratio problem
I tried two different convertors dvi to vga but the problem remains the same

    thanks

If you are using the VGA connection, then you are using it as a monitor, and you should be using it at it's native resolution of 1366 x 768. If the display is distorted when you do this then you have not set up your display drivers correctly, or are using older versions.

If you want to use it as a HDTV then you should use a DVI -> HDMI connector and use the HDMI connection on the TV.
