XVID problem

Up until 3 days ago i didnt have any problems with any codecs, could play all films no problem.
But then I needed to download codecs for my misses to play films on her laptop.
Downloaded Nimo pack 5, and was it was an updated version of the codecs I had I installed it on my pc too.
After that I can no longer play XVID's which have a framerate of 23.97, which is most of my XVID's.
I have tried uninstalling the Nimo pack and installing FDDshow and the latest XVID and DivX codecs and can still not get my files to play normal anymore.
It has gone back to playing films with a green hue and the picture being funny as if the framerate isnt keeping up and the pics are overlapping.

Can anyone offer any advice as its really starting to do my head in.

I recently had a very similair problem to you, it seems to me that the Nimo pack isn't really all that great. Anyway, here's my solution:
Download a fine program called AnalogX which allows you to see all the codecs installed and lets you remove them. Having said that, remove all the video and audio codecs (including the ones which you got seperately from the Nimo Pack) and then reboot.
Now you have two options, you can either install the codecs which you need seperately, or you can go over and download the K-Lite Codec pack from http://www.k-lite.tk (which is what I have). If you want to minimise the possibility of problems occuring then I'd suggest that you just get the codecs you require.

Installed that codec set from klite, and my system is now back to norm.
