I downloaded an MPEG-2 file in PAL format. I can play it in Windows Media and the DivX Player just fine. But when I try to bring it into TMPGEnc to convert it, it gives me a "can not open, or unsupported error". If I try to open it in VirtualDub, it says "MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error".

If my computer has the codecs to play the file, why wouldn't it be able to open it for conversion??

    Please HELP!!!

    I may be wrong but....

Do you have the mpeg2 pluggin for TMPGenc? And do you have the correct codec for mpeg2? I seem to recall the TMPGEnc needs a certain mpeg2 codec. Like the one with power DVD player. But as I said, I could be wrong.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
