OK, I have to do a batch of discs and I in the past I've been using PrassiPrimo DVD 2.0.749 to do burns with my A03. I've since picked up an A05 which comes with Roxio EZ CD Creator. (although I haven't installed it since I don't have a lot of confidence in it.)
I'm wondering if people with A05's are still using Prassi or is there a 'must use' burning package out there that will give me the best burns for the buck?

Savant

I'm with BJ_M
Prassi Primo DVD rules for Pioneers. Also you could use RecordMax Now as that's simply the Veritas PX engine of Prassi re-packaged.
As far as for Pioneer Players, I have had awful experiences with Nero burns on them.
Never an issue with Prassi at all~~~Spidey~~~

I have the A04 and do all my DVD burning under Linux using Xcdroast. No coasters to date with over 100DVD's done. When I was using Windows I got coasters of the first 12 out of a 50 stack. I tried Nero, Roxio EZ CD Creator and just plain gave up and moved the burner to my linux box and have been happy since.

My concern with continuing to use PrassiPrimo is that is it getting old and were never designed for use with the A05. While some people swear by Nero, I've also heard people who have had problems.
Overall I'm looking for the most COMPATIBLE software, so that I get the best compatibility with stand alone players. When using Prassi I had good results, and I'm tempted to continue using it, but I want to be sure I'm not overlooking anything.

ImgTools + DVD Decrypter (both freeware http://www.doom9.org). I've NEVER burnt a coaster doing this. In my hands Nero is very hit and miss, some verisons work others do not (the most recent verison does). But IMHO Nero has a long history of lots of bugs when it comes to burning digital video (SVCDs and DVDs).
But what ever works works, so it's really up to you. -

i posted the link to the updates above ... sonic owns it (they bought it from veritis - who bought it from prassi and now prassi is coming out with new real high end burning software and a lower priced versions).
RecordNow, RecordNow DX, & RecordNow Max and PrimoDVD all use the same burning engine ..
now - sonic also got bought also .. -
Sorry about that, I started my reply when I saw your first message, then went for dinner and never refreshed the page before I replied... Heh...
I'll check that out, thanks for the link.

edit: Ran the update but I'm noticing my version number in Prassi stays the same. Is there some way to tell if the program has been updated? I can't find where the PX engine is stored. -
i believe the version number stays the same but the build number changes or something like that ..

I use either recordnow max or copy to dvd. Nero, for some reason, never seems to work just right. I've tried different versions, different settings(either dvd video or dvd rom) and I would sometimes get coasters. With recordnow max, and especially copy to dvd, I've had no coasters that were software related.
Sometimes, ya just gotta.....umm, what's the word........FART??? -
Latest Nero and RNM both work great with my Cendyne (Pioneer) 105.
