    ok here goes...

I followed the instructions last week and converted a svcd succesfuly using the instructions exept for repatching to 480 for svcd2dvdmpg to unlead dvd2.. great sound and video.. this week using the same instructions same trial and now i get video and no sound.. i attempted to create to video_ts but after patching the video is gone!!

also another issue is that after i convert with svcd2dvdmpg and add video to unlead it changes 2 svcd's at about 500 mg to over 5 g.. please let me know what i am doing wrong!!

Your "other issue" sounds a lot like ULead is resampling the movie to 720x480. I've had a 2-disc SVCD become like 6GB once TMPGEnc was done upsizing it.

There has GOT to be a better encoder. I hear that CinemaCraft is good, but it's both expensive and absurdly difficult to use - apparently they spend all their time tweaking algorithms and none whatsoever writing a workable UI.

Have a look back through this forum... and the DVD authoring one. Someone mentioned another (now discontinued or hard-to-get) encoder that was about 100 times faster than TMPGEnc.
