I have Leadtec TV2000 XP Deluxe and I have the following problems with sound:

    1. if use the leadtek driver and their PVR software , I am getting mono sound when I record tv show. If I use it as just a TV viewer, sound is stereo.

    2. if I use the leadtek driver and any third party software (e.g PowerVCR, Virtual VCR), on some channels (e.g. History Channel) I am getting one sound channel as it should be, but a second channel has some prerecorded message.

    3. if I use btwincap driver, I always have mono sound

    4. if I use xawtv under Linux, I always have mono sound

    Anybody has similar experience?
Any ideas how this can be fixed?

  2. you should put an audio cable from your tvcard output to your soundcard input, and record through the sound card. This will result in better sound.

    zypherix,
So you also have tv2000 deluxe and don't have problems with stereo when you start recording using PVR?
Looks like a time to reinstall windows

  7. I am looking at this card to replace my Xcapture card. Do you have to connect the audio out to the sound card? With my Xcapture I do not have to and the audio works fine. If so what type of connection is for the output from the card? I have the Maudio DiO and it has only coaxial or toslink inputs.

Ahh no.. no need to re-installing Windows! Geees..its just a software bug..

---1. if use the leadtek driver and their PVR software , I am getting mono sound when I record tv show. If I use it as just a TV viewer, sound is stereo.

Had this problem as well..the fix.. when i changed to a channel, i just hit the MTS button on the remote a couple times to make sure it was in stereo.. after doing this when u hit record it will stay in stereo. silly but it works

A new version of Winfast PVR totally fixes this problem. ver 30528

    HTTP: http://www.leadtek.com.tw/support/download.asp?pronameid=292

    FTP(has older versions): http://203.66.138.20/ftp/tv_tuner/WinFast_PVR/application/

But this new version brings a new problem with it for me.. whenever i try to Cap using a different codec then supplied with Winfast PVR (huffy /picvid) i get some error.. cant find codec or some shit like that.

So i'm back to using the older version on the FTP ver 30513, and the MTS button trick..

    g'luck

  9. Im seriously looking at this card to purchase also. If i don't upgrade the drivers, can i capture with virtual dub or related programs?

  10. I have this card also and it worked fine untill I re-installed windows xp and re-installed the drivers and app for the winfast...then I could only capture up to 44.1khz....I found out that after installing the drivers it tries to install windows wdm audio drivers that caused this problem so I just kept the windows xp drivers and my soundcard drivers and cancelled when winfast tried to install these wdm audio drivers and all works well, I am not sure but maybe this too is causing your problem ?

I am using driver version 5.13.1.243

  11. has anyone tried DScaler with this card?

i just bought this one last week and mainly using it right now for capturing using btwincap drivers and virtual dub..

my problem is when i capture in 704x480 or 720x480 using huffyuv or picvid codecs is have this lines all over the place especially when there is movement.. what causes that?

thats why im stuck with capturing 352x480 w/c is fine by the way as thats the max i guess when u capture through analog anyways..

    anyone has the same problem?

btw i never tried to use any software that comes with it yet as i heard lots of not so good things about it.. i might try it some other time..

  12. marscable,

I capture using the bundled drivers and the bundled app and it works great. I caputre 720x480 huffyuv and dont get any lines what-so-ever. The caputures are very clean for me and cause the leadtek software lets you choose whatever codec you have installed and any resolution you want I have never had any problems or complaints with it.

maybe give the bundled drivers and app a try first....you may like it.

my only suggestion is not to use the wdm audio drivers that come with it but use the ones that came with your soundcard.
