    I have a satellite box hooked up via coaxial to my Winfast TV2000 XP Deluxe and I also have a Y cable going from the red/white output to the audio in on the TV Tuner. I have a 3.5mm patch cable going from the audio out of the TV Tuner to the line in of my nForce. I have my speakers connected to the line out of the nForce. I cannot hear anything, I can watch TV just fine but no matter what I've tried I haven't been able to hear anything at all.

    I'm running XP Prof on an Asus mobo with onboard nForce audio. I've updated the drivers as well as the WinfastPVR software. Any help is appreciated

  2. Well, It looks like I am not the only one with the problem. It does not have sound during recording, but however, it does play fine during playback !! I have updated everything as well...I figure it works during playback..who cares !?

    The problem will be with one of the recording channels. Double-click on the speaker icon in the tray to open the Play Controls. Click on Options -> Properties, and select Recording. You should not see a lit of recording devices - mic, CD Digital etc. The actual content of the list will be dependent on your sound card. Make sure that Line In is ticked, along with Mic, Wav and CD Audio. Tick anything else that looks useful (e.g. I have an option called "What U Hear" which allows full duplex recording). Click OK and you should now see the recording devices on the mixer. Tick Line In and do a test record. Makes sure you also select Line In as the audio source in your capture software.

    Well , I wont say what you two should have done in reference to the manual , but here is what you should have considered .

    ====

    Tuner setup :

    If you have coaxial going into tv tuner component of the card , then both signals , video and audio come through when using the inbuilt tuner of the device , and audio is automatically passed to linein on pc sound hardware , using the audio cross over cable from capture cards audio out phone jack... which is always crapola in quality ... mixed input degrades maximum picture quality capable from device , so dont do it .

    This is how you get audio out , no matter what is being done , via pc speakers .

    RCA setup :

    Video out from device > to capture device composite video input .
    MiniDin 6-pin connector supports composite video input via adapter , which hopefully , came with it .

    Audio out from device > to linein on pc only .

    Better video quality will be gained ... capture related , and tested .

    ===

    You really cant have both , unless you include some sort of switch for linein on pc sound hardware ... both cannot be used at the same time or it either becomes garbled garbage , or canceled out by pc sound hardware ... not a good thing to do .

    You might need to also check hidden volume control for auxiliary , though it controls very little , at all .

    Don't tick MIC ... if you have one connected , you will get background noise included .
