Hello:
I am trying to create my own dvd-r and have a problem with my audio.
1ST I have encoded to mpeg2 with tmpg as mpeg2 video and 48k 16bit wav.i have tried it 2 ways as i also tried the "program" stream where you just create a mpg movie.
The audio is there in either case.i might also add that i am using a quicktime reference movie out of an AVID.This works great for making mpeg1 and i have no problems there.
2ND I have tried to make a dvd with either Sonic DVD-It PE, DVD Architecht, Ulead DVD Workshop, TMPG DVD Author.
Everytime I do this it has only a picture and no audio is heard.
Now as far as i can tell i did add the audio track.I know i told these programs to put my audio in.And i thought you can use a 48k 16bit wav if you want to.i also thoght i followed the guides step by step.......
and that ULEAD program is real easy to use.
I ought to be able to hear the audio so what gives.....
does anyone have any ideas on this???
thanks in advance

an update to my problem.
i can hear the audio in DVD Workshop when i put the DVD together and when i do a preview.
once i build the dvd to my drive and open it up for the VIDEO_TS directory i lose all audio and only get video.
maybe that can help out for giving me advice.
thank you

I had a similar problem on a few standalone dvd players at first. I came to find out that on burned dvd's the dvd player audio needs to be set at PCM. I originally had it set at bitrate. Check your owners manual on how to change this setting for your particular dvd player. But, I've also noticed that if I select a DTS audio track instead of the Dolby Digital, it needs to be set back to bitrate...this is on actual dvd's, not burned dvd's. I've yet to try a burned DTS on a standalone.
I don't know if this is the problem your having or not, but I hope it helps!
