I have demuuxed a vob set and have gotten this:
VTS_03_1 - 0x80 - Audio - AC3 - 2ch - 48kHz - DRC - Japanese - DELAY -66ms.AC3
VTS_03_1 - 0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 - 720x480 (NTSC) - 16~9 - Letterboxed.M2V
The demuxing program put the audio delay information in the name of the .AC3 file, which is great to identify what the delay is, but where is that information actually stored in the original dvd?
Is the delay setting something in the header of the .AC3 file (inside the file itself)? Is it in the .IFO file for that VTS/VOB set? Or in the .IFO file for the entire disc??
The reason I am asking is that I am going to add a new subtitle and remux the audio/video/subtitle with DVD-Lab Pro. The program has an optional setting for Audio Delay (under Tools), but when you use that function, the program doesn't really adjust the original .AC3 file - it creates another one which appears to be truncated slightly to compensate for the delay difference. I found that puzzling, since the original .AC3 worked fine and somewhere the info was on the DVD somewhere to apply the -66mSec delay to the existing file.
Can I just remux the existing file with no delay adjustement and then later apply the -66 adjustment with IfoEdit or something like that? Do I even need to - or is the info already there inside the .MP3 or identified by the name of the file?
Hope my question makes sence.
Thanks!

There's almost certainly no delay at all with that particular one. You got that from DVD Decrypter and it's plain wrong. If you were to open the decrypted first VOB in DGIndex (much more accurate) and extract the audio that way, I'm almost certain it would show no delay. Same thing with the DVD on the hard drive and opening an IFO in PGCDemux and checking in 'Check A/V Delay'.
I'm fairly certain the delay is stored in the VOB itself. But it doesn't really matter because you can set the delay in most authoring programs, or remove it entirely using DelayCut, before authoring.
Can I just remux the existing file with no delay adjustement and then later apply the -66 adjustment with IfoEdit or something like that?
