I was looking at the TDK CDRW 16x12x40 Vilo burner at Circuit City today for $199-$50Rebate= $149. Is the burner pretty good? I have heard that they are similiar to the Plextors and Sanyo---is that so? Thanks for all the reponses in advance.

tikbhoy, thanks for the info. I'll have to admit, it's a pretty attractive looking burner. I have credit a circuit city which is why I am looking at getting it. Right now, all I have is a Philips CDRW 8x4x32

OK, one more question in relation to the Velocd TDK burner. I have the following setup:
    800Mhz AMD Duron
    Via mother board

I saw some reviews where people were having problems with this burner working with AMD processors, but I also saw reviews where people had AMD processors without any problems. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

  9. I have a TDK VeloCD 12X burner in my 500 K6-2 and my 550 Athlon and they run flawlessly. I just picked up one of my burners for $80 at CompUSA a few weeks ago (after rebate).
