  1. Hi

I have some dvix/xvid movies that I'm trying to put on SVCD. I know how to use VDub to rip the audio to a wav and then use TMPGEnc to rip the video but.....

if my divx/xvid movies are 5 channel audio, VDUb doesn't seem to want to play ball. I've tried defining that I want a two channel, 44k audio file, but when I try and save to wav it gives me an error message and refuses.

Do I need to rip the 5 channel to 2 channel using something else first?

    Thanks

    W

  2. In vdub, select audio->direct stream copy.
    Then file-Save wav.

Change the name of the save file to file.ac3. Then use HeadAc3he to convert this to whatever format you want (Stereo, wav, mp2, mp3).

If HeadAc3he gives an error, try running the .1c3 file from vdub through ac3fix.exe

All these tools are available in this sites tools section.

You might even be able to do it using GoldWave.

Just open the AVI, and save it as a WAV - I saw someone mention that once and keep meaning to try it.

Any time that I have AC3 audio or VBR-MP3, I always use Goldwave to create my wav file.
