Did Optodisc change its formulation?

For several months I've been using OptoDisc 1x DVD-R's with no problem.

But this current batch of 50 is different. 30 discs into it, and I've gotten 5 that skip or freeze toward the end of the disc.

This isn't the beginning of a trend, is it?

Im wondering that too. I just bought a spindal of 50, after hearing how good they performed. I burned a movie to it (and it burned at 2x on my sony dru500a), stuck it in the dvd player (Samsung V1000), and got the skips, which i used to get with the old accus I have. The only media that seems to play right for me is Princo 1x which are supposed to utter shit. I guess ill never understand this :P

Hmmm, maybe it's time to find another brand. Over in the DVD Media section of this site I'm reading good things about the Samsung BeAll's. Might give those a shot next....
