Sorry if this has been covered recently, but I could not find anything on it in my site search nor is it clear from reading the tutorials.![]()
I have an *.AVI file that I want to convert to DivX using Virtualdub (Divx 4.12 codec). In the video compression section I wanted to try a 2 pass-1 pass encode. It did not encode the movie, but instead created a log file that is supposed to be used to do the final encode.
My question is, how do you read this file and MORE improtantly, how to you use this log file to do the final encode of the movie? Please give me a step by step method, so that I wont have to keep coming back and bothering you![]()
Many thanks

You encode it as 2nd pass, and tell it where the first pass file is. This is 1000% better than CCE or TMPG, as you can change a lot and you only need to re-encode once. The statistics from the first pass won't change with filtering/compression settings.
